The Lund Institute of Technology Students' Choir is a mixed choir, founded
in March 1994. Most of the members, as well as the conductors, are or have
been students at Lund Institute of Technology, Lund University or Malmö
Academy of Music.
The choir arranges two concerts of its own every year, one at Christmas and one in May. The repertoire contains a broad spectrum of music from ABBA to folksongs, madrigals, classical music and vocal jazz à la Swingle Singers. The choir gives performances for a fee on various occasions, for instance in December when the choir gives several performances at Lucia - a Swedish traditional celebration - at various companies in the vicinity of Lund. We also emphasize having a good time, and consequently throw at least two parties per term. We go away to choir camp one weekend in the second half of every term, where we practice, party and get to know each other a little better.
Today the Lund Institute of Technology Students' Choir consists of about forty members, distributed fairly evenly between the parts. We regularly accept exchange students into the choir, so if you are a foreigner studying at LTH or Lund Univerity and share our interest in music, please come to one of our practises - preferably at the start of the term, but if you are used to singing in a choir you will probably manage to catch up even if you join us later.
Autumn rehersals start in September and spring semester around January. If you are interested in singing with us please send a mail to choir@tlth.lth.se.
